what i love about poor things

i know this movie is controversial among the "i have to take my media hyperliterally and if the director does not stop the movie to explain morality to me i wont be able to tell whats going on" crowd so i do often feel like i have to justify how much i like this movie lol

THE COSTUME DESIGN!! i missed the costume exhibit in london for poor things by like two days when i went over and its one of my lifes greatest missed experiences. but yes! i love the costume design so much! reading interviews with Holly Waddington is so facinating.. the ammount of thought and symbolism in all of these costumes is so so gorgeous. i love that i can keep rewatching this movie over and over again and keep analysing different elements like this

this movie has my favourite soundtrack of all time. another aspect of the film where the more interviews you read about it the more you enjoy it and find yourself obsessed with it!! the soundtrack also informs my music and how i love to play with weird sound so so much thank you jerskin fendrix i will love you forever

set design!!! so much of the set was practically done and i want to live on in so so bad! you can see in some of the behind the scenes videos the ammount of detail in godwins house and bellas room!

i dont feel like i know enough about cinematography to talk about it but god is it gorgeous

everytime i rewatch it i feel more and more motivated to experience every part of life i can!! i dont know how to explain how much energy and happiness this movie and its message gives me

this block is just me complaining but!! searchlight pictures released poor things merch for the one year release anniversary and so much of it is gorgeous (this hoodie i like especially) but it so so expensive!!!!!!! this hoodie is $108 and the baseball caps are $42??? i understand a certain level of it being expensive, i wouldve paid around €75 plus shipping for the hoodie but almost €110?? youre kidding me
